The Highlights
i think this year was a good year swimming-wise. i was a 2.40.12 when i first started this year, and i've cut that down by 5.39 seconds to a 2.34.73. for my 100, i've gone from a 1.16.2 to a 1.13.60, a 2.6 seconds difference. not that bad if you ask me, considering i've hardly improved in the last two years. so, really, even though i didn't hit my targets for seag, i'm quite happy with the times i've done.
my training was better than last time too. i did a 1.17.1 one week during a 8x100 main set with the last one being a dive, and then lowering that training PB to a 1.16.2. and in phuket, i did a 2.49 on a push off. so it's quite good for training.
school-wise, i'm just glad i passed my sec 3 year. hopefully, next year it'll be better.
The Lowlights
academically, i was really struggling because of all the school i missed. there was a period where i missed school for almost a month. so it was one tough job to catch up with everybody else since we were speeding through everything. but at least i managed to pass. that's all i care about anyway. i was failing up until the end-years.
another thing was me getting sick during ayg. that was one of the most horrible times of my life. well, at least there wasn't any asthma attacks interfering. only had my asthma once this year, if i'm not wrong. before snag.
this year was also filled with injuries. like my back, which i think is making a reappearance. and my wrist, my never-ending pain-filled wrist.
and the number one most major lowlight of the year? someone's giving up and not doing it anymore.
all in all, not a bad year in swimming with only one huge thing stopping it from becoming a great year. my studies? well, let's just say i'm working on that. [hopefully] and at least i was healthier than previous years. surely that's a plus.
